Biography

Paolo was born in Montevarchi (Tuscany) on 21th February 1967. He lives in Florence and visits Riga often.
Paolo's first job was in the local newspaper, and later in an ONG press office. His interest in Latvian language and culture began to develop about 15 years ago. 
In 2011 Paolo started a blog “Baltica” which offers the news and information about culture, society and history of Latvia. Afterwards (in 2012) he created another blog "Biblioteca Baltica" where he publicize the fragments of Latvian literary works translated in Italian.
Paolo has translated in Italian several books of Latvian authors, published by Damocle Edizioni Venezia.
He participated as a speaker in the conference about the Latvian literature translated in italian language held at the National central library of Rome in May 2016.
Recently Paolo  translated "Melnais piens" for Jaunais Rīgas teātris performed as "Black milk" at Teatro dell'Arte in Milan in June 2016. He collaborates also with other publishers and institutions, for example Latvian Institute and Latvian Embassy in Italy.
