Naira Khachatryan
Biography
Naira Khachatryan (b.1970) is an Armenian and Russian translator who studied for five years in the Department of Philology at the University of Latvia. She has worked as the editor in chief of the translator and publisher website translitoria.com, and has been a coordinator of the Forum of Translators and Publishers of the CIS and the Baltic countries.
She participated in the creation of an anthology of Latvian Literature in Armenian, and has translated great Latvian classics by authors such as Knuts Skujenieks, Imants Ziedonis and Aleksandrs Čaks.
Awards
- in 2014, received the "Sudraba tintnīca" award, given by the International Writers and Translators house in Ventspils (Latvia), for best translation done in residency;
